Report of the Special Rapporteur: Twenty years after the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance A/76/434

Marking the 20th anniversary of the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, held in Durban, South Africa, this report reflects on its achievements, and highlights ongoing barriers to implementing the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action. It addresses disinformation campaigns undermining the Declaration and emphasizes its enduring relevance in combating systemic racism. The report advocates for renewed global commitment to addressing racial discrimination, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic’s exacerbation of inequalities, and offers corresponding recommendations.
