Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance (A/76/369)
This report addresses the increase in antisemitic incidents and conspiracy theories since the outbreak of COVID-19, examining the ideological underpinnings of antisemitism and its overlap with anti-Asian and anti-Black racism, Islamophobia, and attacks on non-nationals linked to the pandemic. It highlights human rights crises engendered by the pandemic, including the ethnicisation of disease and gaps in state policy responses, such as the lack of disaggregated data on antisemitic incidents. The report summarizes submissions received from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Ireland, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Qatar, the Russian Federation, and Tunisia, as well as from the WHO and civil society actors.
